For more than a quarter century, Joseph A. Chazan and his late wife Helene have been a part of the contemporary art scene in Rhode Island, collecting furniture, paintings, prints, photographs, sculpture, ceramics, and glass by national and regional artists. Along the way, they have developed not only a passion for art, but also a gift for forming relationships with artists who became central to their lives. Demonstrating this support for artists, the Chazans have donated more than 200 works of art, demonstrating exemplary commitment not only to the Museum, but also to visitors who now may share their passion. Some 40 highlights of these gifts are reproduced. Interview with the Chazans by curators Judith Tannenbaum and Thomas A. Michie: texts by four artists?Howard Ben Tré, Jonathan Bonner, Umberto Crenca, Salvatore Mancini.
